Uluburun Shipwreck

An entire decade of archaeological investigation into what is the world’s oldest known shipwreck has revealed a vast cornucopia of ancient treasures, and the wreck was voted by Scientific American journal to be one of the ten greatest archaeological discoveries of the 20th century.

The cargo included items from at least seven different cultures, including Mycenean (Greek), Syro-Palestinian (forerunners of the Phoenicians), Cypriot, Egyptian, Kassite, Assyrian and Nubian.

Nebra Sky Disc

The Nebra Sky Disc is one of the most fascinating, and some would say controversial, archaeological finds of recent years. Dated to 1600 BCE, this bronze disc has a diameter of 32cm (about the size of a vinyl LP) and weighs around 2 kg. It is patinated blue-green and embossed with gold leaf symbols which appear to represent a crecent moon, the sun (or perhaps a full moon), stars, a curved gold band, interpreted as a sun boat, and a further gold band on the edge of the disc which probably represent one of the horizons (another gold band on the opposite side is missing).

Gravinis Tumulus, Brittany France (Newgrange?)

And it’s old. Built in 3500 BCE during the Neolithic Era, it is older than the Great Pyramid of Giza and even a few centuries older than Newgrange, its more famous Irish cousin.
And it’s really big. At 100 meters in diameter, it’s bigger than Newgrange.
And the 46 foot long passageway leading to the central chamber is made up of huge stones carved in fantastic patterns that seem to shimmer and pulse. Several sources state flatly that they are some of the most magnificent art humanity has produced, a masterpiece of universal art.

Ferriby Boats (Egypt/England) date between 2000 and 1800BC,

The Ferriby Boats have been dated to between about 2000 and 1800BC, with the vessel known as 'Ferriby 3' being the oldest sewn-plank craft discovered in Europe. The discovery of tools and the remains of a capstan at the same site suggest that there may have been a shipyard at North Ferriby 4,000 years ago. Indeed, the vessels themselves seem to have been partly dismantled perhaps for recycling into new ones.

The Ferriby Boats would have been ideally suited to working the Humber, whether east/west or across to the south bank. However, recent sea trials of the 'Oakleaf', a half-scale reconstruction, suggest craft of this type were capable of crossing the North Sea

Egypt Connection?

Lorraine Evans book Kingdom of the Ark suggest the boats to be from Egypt.

To those of you who have read Kingdom of the Ark you will already be aware that in the opening chapters I comment upon the Ferriby Boats from North Yorkshire and their links to Ancient Egyptian boat design. This was nearly 13 years ago now and at the time I was deemed crazy to suggest such a thing. However, the latest press statement from the official Ferriby Heritage Trust, seen below, now appears to be coming around to my way of thinking. Perhaps I wasn't that crazy after all folks!

Round Towers of Ireland, built by the Tuatha De Danaans?

The Round Towers Or The History Of The Tuatha De Danaans by Henry O'Brien (1808-1835) was published in 1834. The book was controversial at the time because O'Brien claimed that the round towers which were a common feature of early Irish Christian monastic sites were in fact built by pre-Christian pagans. According to O'Brien the towers were phallic symbols built by the Tuatha De Danann as part of an ancient cult he linked with ancient Greece, Egypt, India and Buddhism.

The book reviewer's claim its for pseudo-historians, science fiction writers and modern day conspiracy theorist, thats making a big claim when there is no document evidence, that they were built by monks,

La chabola de la Hechicera (in BasqueSorginaren Txabola, "The Witch's Hut") is a dolmen group located in ElvillarÁlava, in the Basque Country in Spain. Three large vertical stones support a large horizontal flat stone. Nine large stones form a chamber in a polygonal shape. The corridor is made of five stones, and is divided into two. The site was probably a funeraryconstruction to hold the remains of the people in the settlement.
